Example:
For: Free candy giveaways every Monday
Opponents of my position may argue that passing out free candy to students during Homeroom will encourage bad eating habits. However, you should consider that by giving candy out to students, teachers may cause students to get tired of candy, thereby encouraging students to eat less of it on their own. For example, I know many people who have grown sick and tired of certain foods because they ate so much of it while they were young. In addition, teachers can use the act of passing out candy as a platform to talk about the dangers of cavities and too much sugar.

Dear students,
Welcome to the English 8 website!
This is where you will find reminders about homework assignments/projects. Please be reminded that each assignment will be marked down 10% per day it is late. Also, if you are ever absent, please bring a note explaining your absence from a parent/guardian plus a phone number contact. In the case of an excused absence, you will have 2 days to turn in all necessary classwork and homework. Please be sure to ask myself and your classmates about the work missed, so that you can be sure you are not missing points for your grade.
As always, let me know if you have any questions or comments via email or when visiting my Collaboration Hour in room 308 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:30-3:30.
Thank you, and let's have a successful year together!
Best,
Ms. Alarid
